It’s not just difficult to find words to describe the landscape in the Picos de Europa National Park, it’s almost impossible! Everything in this setting in northern Spain is spectacular: the rocky crests, the gorges, the valleys, the vast glacial lakes, the leafy forests. You can rest assured that you’ll be absolutely amazed at everything you see.
We are based in Llanes, a beautiful seaside town with more than 30 wonderful beaches, traditional food and great atmosphere and Arenas de Cabrales a lovely village close to the Picos de Europ
Sometimes changes to the itinerary are necessary due to the weather or special situations This can happen with little notice. If you’re flexible and have a sense of humour, you’re bound to have a fun and relaxing trip across this beautiful part of the world.
Arrival at Santander Airport. Transfer to Llanes. Check in and briefing at hotel Paraíso. Accommodation.

Breakfast. CANOEING ON THE RIVER DEVA. A descent of the spectacular River Deva in sit-on-top tandem canoes, enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and exciting rapids. The canoeing tour is about 12 km and around 3 hours of easy paddling through stunning landscape. Halfway through the trip there is a stop for a relaxing picnic lunch on the banks of the river and the braves can have a dip! In the afternoon, CAVING.
A caving tour takes you to a world that, whether you are the first to enter or not, will leave an unforgettable impression. Your caving activity can involve walking and crawling through a whole new subterranean world – one you never knew existed. Be amazed by the rock formations. Asturias has some of the best limestone caving in Spain. Accommodation and dinner.
Breakfast. VIA FERRATA + 4 ZIPLINES. Experience the stunning views, unique terrain, heights as you travel routes normally only accessible to skilled rock climbers! Via Ferrata is a climbing system, a series of fixed metal rungs and steel cable systems. We do via ferrata EL SELLA on the Beyos Gorge in the National Park of Picos de Europa. This Via Ferrata takes 2 hours and a half (total duration including walking approach, ferrata and ziplines). Lunch in restaurant.
In the afternoon, HORSERIDING. 2 hours route around Covadonga with magnificent views of the Picos de Europa. Accommodation and dinner.
DAY 4:
Breakfast. A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO CANYONING. Explore the Picos de Europa from within, descending a gorge which has been forged by a mountain river. In this challenging activity, dressed in wetsuits, find natural wells, water slides and jump into beautiful pools. This is a beginner’s level canyon and therefore no ropes are necessary, and it is fun and easy. When we finish, we will be hungry, so we will do a stop in a homemade restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal. In the afternoon, HIKING TOUR AROUND LAKES OF COVADONGA.
The walk starts from Lake Enol in the heart of the Picos de Europa and heads up to the top of La Reblagas and then on to the beautiful “Majada del bricial” and continues towards “Majada Vega de Enol” until Lake Enol. Going back to Llanes, we will do a stop in Covadonga to visit the church and the “Saint Cave”, where we can see the Virgin of Covadonga. Accommodation and dinner.
Breakfast. THE CARES GORGE PATH. 12 Km. Gradient: +250 m -150 m. Transfer from Llanes to Poncebos at 9.30. This gorge, with its narrow passes and gullies, is right in the heart of the Picos de Europa Mountains. The area’s stunning landscape affords unique views of the National Park. Getting to know this route is a unique experience. The trail is narrow, surrounded by wild vegetation, with water ever-present. The river flows along the valley-floor, its sound a constant companion in route.
Now and again the path takes you through small tunnels carved out of the rock and across bridges that hang over the abyss. All the while, rocky mountain sides tower up on either side of the trail. The itinerary runs between Poncebos, in Asturias province and Cain, in Leon province. It runs parallel to the Cares, the area’s wildest river. The route covers 12 kilometres over easy terrain. When we finish, our off-road vehicle will be waiting for us. A wonderful scenic drive from Valdeon Valley until Fuente Dé arriving at Aliva Mountain Refuge with spectacular views of the Glacier Valley. Then, you’ll appreciate the warm evening and the great atmosphere with real climbers. Dinner and accommodation.
Breakfast. HIKE ALONG ALIVA GLACIER VALLEY. 10 Km Gradient: -700m. First, we’ll leave the Refuge crossing the moraine of the great Aliva glacier, coming into Asturias and then, we’ll walk along the Duje River, this area is surrounded by grassland and we’ll see the cows, goats and sheep, to get a collection of red-roofed buildings known as “Vegas del Toro” and arriving to Sotres, the highest village in the national park. In the village, our vehicle is waiting for you to transfer back to Poncebos. Accommodation in Arenas de Cabrales and farewell dinner.
Breakfast and it is time to say to Goodbye or at least until our next adventure together.
Possibility of transfer to the airport for those who require it.
