Sometimes changes to the itinerary are necessary due to the weather or special situations This can happen with little notice. If you’re flexible and have a sense of humour, you’re bound to have a fun and relaxing trip across this beautiful part of the world.
Our meeting point is in Burgos, where we begin our own adventure as pilgrims and explorers. For those who arrive early you will have time to enjoy this authentic city, full of history and to visit one of its most spectacular monuments in Gothic style “the Cathedral of Burgos”.
In the afternoon we all meet in the lobby of the hotel to learn more details of our week in the “Camino” and make a toast before going to dinner.
Begin our continuous search for what will be our most faithful guide until we reach Santiago, we refer to the “Shell of Santiago” the signs of our pilgrimage.
We will do some stretches in minibus (avoiding the asphalt and traffic stretches that do not interest us and reserving the most beautiful stretches for our feet to enjoy in this way capturing the essence of one of the most beautiful trips for the soul .When We say goodbye at the end of the trip, you will know perfectly what I mean).
We pass by Carrión de los Condes and by beautiful landscapes that will almost change the color of your eyes. In the afternoon we will arrive in León City.
In the morning before leaving Leon, we visit its streets, impressive stained glass of the Cathedral and some of its most characteristic monuments, we begin to enjoy some works of our favorite architect “Gaudí”.
We follow a small section by minibus to get away from the traffic of the city and we start towards Astorga where are lunch is waiting for us and we can follow more closely Gaudí’s footprints, mixed with a Roman wall, followed by a medieval cathedral … full of contrasts and where ” The path of silver ” starts.
In the afternoon we will continue a little by bus and the rest on foot to get to one of the small villages of the road that you will remember the most ,is the only one that offers a mass fully sung in Latin and where we mingling with some of our fellow travelers during that day . It is one of the most emotional moments of the Way, we can not miss it.
We journey o “la Cruz del Ferro” which towers above a mountain of stones, each stones left by passing pilgrim, of course you can also leave something from far away that I am sure someone will be happy about it.
Traversing the winemaking region of Bierzo, we descend to “El Acebo”, a very small and authentic village where we will stop for our lunch while mingling with other pilgrims in a very local restaurant.
In the afternoon we walk over wildflower-scented slopes and down to the village of Molinaseca. Tonight we will enjoy a very nice dinner in a beautiful and charming hotel that it will make us feel like in our private dinning room having a good chat with our friends! By this time, we have a lot of things to talk about and share good moments.
After breakfast a short bus ride take us to Ponferrada, with its 12th-century Templar Castle built to defend the pilgrims from the Moors. From there we wind our way beside mountain streams to the perfectly preserved hilltop village of O’Cebreiro, with its pallozas, oval stone huts with conical straw roofs where man and beast lived together. After lunch we continue to medieval Villafranca del Bierzo, surrounded by mountains and standing at the confluence of two rivers.
Dinner at the hotel and rest after another spectacular day in the Camino.
Another special day today, we are walking over rolling countryside and crystal clear streams.
We pause by the pilgrims fountain in Triacastela and after a short drive, we visit the Monastery of Samos and continue on foot to our lunch in Samos for a delicious lunch where we are going to taste and discover more senses of the Camino. In the afternoon our route takes us along stonewalled lanes to our hotel in Portomarín.
The big day is arriving and today we are going to see the towers of Santiago. The excitement of reaching our goal increases as we walk into the old city and stand in wonder in the huge “Plaza del Obradoiro”, admiring the magnificent Cathedral and seeing all the pilgrims gathering in the main square and believe it or not You are part of it and your footprints are in The Camino for ever as in your heart.

Today after breakfast we make our own way to the airport of Santiago, for those who still have some time in the city you have the chance to attend the noon-day Pilgrim Mass in the Cathedral of the field of stars, were if you are lucky you could enjoy the incredible famous “botafumeiro” (huge incense burner) is swung to its mighty rafters.

Getting Away at the End of the Trip: The trip ends in Santiago de Compostela after breakfast. You can take a taxi to the airport (10km from the city center)or we can organice transportation if you wish.
From the Santiago de Compostela airport you can take flights to Madrid and Barcelona for onward connections, and there are also direct international services to Paris and Rome.
Another option is to fly from the airport of nearby A Coruña (1 hr by local train from Santiago), from where there are international flights to London and Lisbon, as well as various domestic services.
By train from Santiago, you can travel to Madrid on the TALGO service (8hr 30min), and there are also bus services covering this and other destinations.
